Secretary Walsh met with members of Local 720 on Monday to talk about the Administration’s efforts to build our economy back better and put power into the hands of working people. Among the topics discussed were The Protecting the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act), which would help restore equality to our economy by strengthening the right to join a union, and the importance of extending healthcare coverage for entertainment workers who continue to be out of work through no fault of their own.
“We at Local 720 are very appreciative of Secretary Walsh taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with us, address our concerns and listen to our comments about what the last 18 months have been like,” Said IATSE Local 720 President Phil Jaynes.
Political/Legislative Director Tyler McIntosh indicated these meetings are proof positive of how the administration is putting the needs of working families front and center, “When we elect a pro-worker administration, they listen to us. The level of engagement that we have experienced from the Biden Administration is unprecedented and it’s truly the most pro-worker administration in history.”
