On Juneteenth (also known as Freedom Day) we join together to commemorate African American culture, history and achievements.
To our Sisters, Brothers and Kin across the United States and Canada, as we celebrate the rich history of the descendants of the Africans from the Middle Passage, we encourage our IATSE Locals and members to take time to reflect, educate, and acknowledge a period in our history that shaped our past and continues to influence our future as a country today.
This #Juneteenth we encourage you to brush up on issues of equity, diversity and inclusion and discover what steps we can make together to help usher actionable change in our unions, workplaces and communities. A great way to start is to watch IATSE’s Education & Training Department’s webinar titled: ‘Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Basics’ here: iatse.co/dei-basics
