CHICAGO , Aug. 6 — IATSE President Matthew Loeb has been appointed to the AFL-CIO Executive Council, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of IA President Emeritus Thomas C. Short. Loeb’s appointment was approved Tuesday morning at the opening session of the Council’s meeting at the Drake Hotel.
