The IATSE would like to extend its congratulations to Bernard Fishbein, our Canadian Counsel, who has been appointed as Chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board.  Mr. Fishbein is a senior lawyer and former managing partner at Koskie Minsky, the Toronto-based law firm where he has been representing trade unions in a number of industries since 1981.

Mr. Fishbein has been acting as IATSE’s Canadian Counsel since 1989 and representing various IATSE local unions since 1978.  This important appointment is a reflection of the high regard many in the labour relations community have for his legal skills, labour relations knowledge, insights and integrity.

IATSE President Matthew D. Loeb stated, “Bernie has been an integral part of the IATSE for over twenty years.  Much of our success is the result of the clear and unwavering advice and support provided to us by Bernie and his colleagues at Koskie Minsky.  What is the IATSE’s loss will certainly be the broader labour community’s gain.”
