Seattle Local Successful in Two Organizing Efforts

IATSE Announces Agreement with NETworks

Local 15, Seattle, Washington, has been successful in organizing two more theatres in its jurisdiction.

The first theatre is the Auburn Performing Arts Center in Auburn, Washington, 25 miles south of Seattle. The A.P.A.C. is an 1,100 seat multi-use theatre operated by the Auburn School District and receives assistance from the City of Auburn. The Local’s organizing committee was successful in having 80% of the required cards signed, and was automatically recognized under the Public Employment Relations Rules in Washington State.

The second theatre is the 1,500 seat Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia, Washington, approximately 60 miles to the south of Seattle. The Local received a 75% win percentage and will begin bargaining shortly for a first contract.
