Nearly $11,000 was raised at an event held February 1, 2005 to benefit the IATSE Political Action Committee. The event, held in conjunction with the IATSE’s 2005 Mid-Winter General Executive Board Meeting at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Houston, Texas and was sponsored by Houston-based IATSE Locals 51, 484, 796, 896 and B-184. Those in attendance included officers and representatives of the IATSE as well as local union representatives, many of whom traveled from all over the country to attend the Board meeting.

“IATSE-PAC fund raisers will continue to be held at various IATSE events throughout the country so that the IATSE may actively participate in the political process by supporting those candidates who are labor friendly and seek to protect the rights of working men and women of this nation”, remarked IATSE President Thomas C. Short.
