IATSE Covers “Gravedancers” With A Contract Following An All Night Bargaining Session

IA President Short Appoints Safety Chairman

Continuing the IATSE’s organizing blitz, International Representatives Scott Harbinson and Dan Mahoney made their way to Greensboro, NC to face off with the sub-million dollar horror film, “Gravedancers”. Working with Local 600 Eastern Regional Director Chaim Kantor and Local 491 Business Agent, Ben Adams; an agreement was reached during an all-night negotiating session that followed a successful job action. The picket line was supported by key union and non-union personnel alike, leaving the employer no choice but to recognize the union and bargain.

The agreement provides for full, retroactive benefits; a one-time wage bonus and a contractualstructure that provides for overtime, meal penalty, turn around and all of the other considerations professional crew persons have worked to establish throughout the industry.
