After a long and arduous set of negotiations, that spanned more than 2 years, Local 890 has ratified a new collective agreement with the “National Arts Centre” in Ottawa. This agreement not only includes increases to benefits and conditions but also a wage package that stands to make Local 890 members the highest paid wardrobe local in the country. With the help of the International, they were able to negotiate a 46 % increase over 5 years, with retroactive wages backdated to the year 2000.
