Employees working for the Golf Channel on their broadcast coverage of tournament play have been voting by mail ballot for the last six weeks in an election held by the National Labor Relations Board. The election was to determine if employees wish to be represented by the IATSE.
On Monday May 6 ballots were counted at the National Labor Relation Board Region 31, in Los Angeles, to determine the outcome. The employees voted in favor of representation.
The unit of workers include Technical Directors, Audio Mixers and Technicians, Video Controllers, Camera Operators, Play back Operators and Editors, Graphics Operators, Utility Technicians, and others in similar technical positions working on tournament play for the Golf Channel.
