The IATSE successfully won the right to represent the road crew employed with the touring company of Troika’s “Sound of Music”, Thomas C. Short, International President of the IATSE announced.
Representatives of the union filed an NLRB petition in New York, to represent the road crew while the show was touring in Florida, Louisiana, and Ohio. The union will represent the crew consisting of road carpenters, electricians, property persons, make-up artists, hair stylists, audio engineers and wardrobe personnel.
Negotiations followed and on December 7th an agreement was reached for a non-traditional touring contract, also known as a “modified pink contract”.
This organizing effort was spearheaded by IATSE Vice President Michael J.Sullivan and International Representative Ron Lynch.
The show is slated to continue its tour through mid-April 2001.
