Georgetown, SC — Organizers from Locals 600 and 491 led by IA Representative Scott Harbinson have reached an agreement on the low budget motion picture, “Isopod” currently shooting in Georgetown, South Carolina.
Negotiations on the $2.4 million film, being directed by Oscar winner Barry Levinson, broke down over the company’s refusal to meet the minimum terms set by the National Low Budget Agreement. Local 600 representatives Chaim Kantor, Vinnie Galindez and Local 491 BA Jason Rosin set up a picket line which was honored by a majority of the crew.
Limping along with a skeleton crew of replacement workers, after being declared “Unfair” by International President Loeb, the company was further pressured by actions coordinated through the General Office, West Coast Office and Canadian Office.
All of the striking employees returned to work under the full terms and conditions of the National Low Budget Agreement.
