Members of IATSE Local 796, Television Broadcast and Studio Employees of Texas voted unanimously to ratify an agreement with International and National Mobile Television, it was announced by International President Thomas C. Short. Final vote tally for the election held on April 30, 2004, was 53 in favor of the contract, zero against, and four spoiled ballots.
The agreement is a four-year term agreement and covers employees working on professional sporting events throughout the State of Texas including the home feed of the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets. Provisions of the contract provide improvement in wages and employer benefit contributions including health and retirement benefits through the IATSE National Benefit Plans.

“The unanimous ratification of this agreement proves our efforts in Texas are bearing fruit. We will continue our push to capture work and provide our members with the best working conditions,” Short stated.
