IATSE Local 58 Organizes Crew at Young People’s Theatre

IATSE Announces Agreement with NETworks

TORONTO, ON – On May 21, IATSE Local 58 filed for certification of stage employees at the Young People’s Theatre. Opened in 1966, the YPT is Canada’s largest theatre for young people and operates two performance spaces; the Susan Douglas Rubes Theatre and the Nathan Cohen Studio.

The representation vote was held on May 28, and the stage employees were unanimous in their support for IATSE representation. On June 12, the Ontario Labour Relations Board certified IATSE Local 58 as the bargaining agent for the four stage employees. The crew is looking forward to working under its first collective agreement.
