IATSE Local 3 in Pittsburgh, PA has successfully organized Ohio-based stage labor contractor Main Event Services, it was announced by IATSE President Thomas C. Short.
The initial petition to organize was filed on April 3 and a hearing date was set with the NLRB. At the April 13 hearing, representatives of Main Event Services stipulated that an election be held. Ballots were counted on May 31 with a 14 to 2 total in favor of unionizing. Local 3 received final certification on June 12.
Main Event Services provides all full and part time stagehands for the I.C. Light Amphitheater, Orchard Hill Church, Wendy’s Stage at Three Rivers Stadium, Club Metropol/Rosebud, Club Laga and St. Vincent’s College.
