CAMROSE, AB – On March 10, 2015, the Alberta Labour Relations Board certified IATSE Local 210 as the bargaining agent for all theatre technicians working at the Bailey Theatre. The local filed for certification of these employees on January 26. The Bailey Theatre, located in Camrose, Alberta, is a century-old vaudeville house and is the oldest theatre in the province. It underwent extensive renovations and is now a state-of-the-art 396-seat multi-function facility.

The representation vote was held on February 12 and, after the outstanding issues were settled, the ballots were counted on March 10 and were unanimously in favour of Local 210. The Labour Board issued its decision the same day. The new IATSE Local 210 members are looking forward to the negotiation of their first collective agreement. The local is thrilled with the victory – its second organizing win in the last six months.
