IATSE Issues Statement on Blacklist Exhibit

IATSE General Board Endorses Obama 2nd Term

International President Thomas C. Short issued the following statement after viewing the exhibit, “Reds and Blacklists: Political Struggles in the Movie Industry,” currently on display at the Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, CA.

“The IATSE deeply regrets the blacklisting days of Hollywood. Our Union leadership and its members do not condone singling out of any individual on the basis of his or her political views. These dark days occurred better than 50 years ago and the justification of those activities are not a reflection of the attitudes or opinions of the IATSE.”
