IATSE, FremantleMedia Reach Term Agreement

IA President Short Appoints Safety Chairman

Los Angeles – The IATSE and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA), the U.S. production division of global media giant FremantleMedia, have reached a three year term agreement covering domestic programs produced for network and basic cable, it was jointly announced today by Matthew D. Loeb, International President of IATSE and Dan Goldberg, Executive Vice President of Production for FMNA.

FMNA, whose programs include “American Idol” (FOX), “America’s Got Talent” (NBC) and the upcoming “The X Factor” (FOX), which is co-produced with Simon Cowell’s Syco Television, have already been working with IA crews on a number of their shows. The new agreement establishes parameters across all programs.

“We are pleased to enter into this long-term relationship,” said Loeb in making the announcement. “This new enhanced agreement underlines our commitment to working with FremantleMedia North America on some of the biggest programming brands on television.”

“When it comes to production, we pride ourselves on a consistent high level of quality and creativity,” added Goldberg. “Members of the IA are the best at their crafts, so it only makes sense to work with them all the time.”
