FX Set Designs Win Emmy and BDA Awards

IA President Short Appoints Safety Chairman

After winning an Emmy Award in Set Design far San Francisco TV station KRON.TV, FX Group/FX Scenery & Display was awarded the prestigious BDA Award for Scenic Design for KRON-TV and WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. The BDA awards were presented in June at the 25th annual Broadcast Design Association Awards at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, honoring outstanding design contributions to broadcast media. The Emmys were presented in May at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, recognizing excellence in all fields of television production. The FX set designs were chosen for their innovative visual impact and functional flexibility.

FX CEO/creative director and lighting designer Mack Mclaughlin, working with FX scenic designer Tim Parsons, guided the KRON-TY design process to reach the station’s creative goals effectively. “The thing that drives a successful designer isn’t winning awards, but a passion for the work,” states Parsons, “although the recognition is much appreciated.”
