The New York City Production Locals of the IATSE have concluded a successful organizing campaign and reached a collective bargaining agreement with FRB Productions for the Comedy Central half hour basic cable show “Stella,” International President Thomas C. Short stated.
Members of the crew contacted organizing representatives of the IATSE requesting representation. After an overwhelming majority of the crew signed authorization cards designating the IATSE as their collective bargaining agent, representatives of the production company and the IATSE signed an agreement covering all the crew classifications. Provisions covering wages, health and pension benefits, hours, and working conditions were included in the pact and made retroactive from the date of hire.
IATSE International President Tom Short comments, “The IATSE is steadfast in the pursuit of organizing and representing technicians in all areas of production. We welcome the crew of ‘Stella’ to membership in IATSE and salute their unwavering support during the organizing effort.”
IATSE Vice President and Director of Motion Picture and Television Production Matt Loeb and International Representative Dan Mahoney spearheaded the organizing drive with representatives of IATSE Local’s 52, 161, 600,700, 764, 798, and USA 829.
