Organizers from Locals 478, 600 and the International recently concluded negotiations with the production “Battlecreek”; shooting in Canton, MS.

The $1.8 million film is a production of H&T Films, LLC and parent Maindiner Entertainment. The crew of more than forty were committed to organizing the project- and after a day of negotiations with producer Connie Hoy and director Alison Eastwood; an agreement was reached for the project and Maindiner Entertainment became the latest term signatory company. The agreement calls for all of the customary terms and conditions of employment and will pay more than $150,000 in benefit contributions.

Mississippi is an up-and-coming regional production center and word traveled fast. A UK-based company had just begun pre-production in nearby Jackson, MS and contacted the organizing team to negotiate an agreement for its next two projects. That negotiation is currently in process and will yield 40-50 new jobs for IATSE members on each project.
