TORONTO, ON, Mar 28 – On March 4, the Ontario Labour Relations Board certified IATSE Local 58 as the bargaining agent for all stage employees of the Enwave Theatre, owned by the Harbourfront Centre.  The theatre is a multi-use venue typically used for music, dance, and theatre presentations and can be transformed into various seating configurations, from a 350-seat proscenium set-up to a maximum in-the-round capacity of 422 seats.

Five stagehands were employed at the theatre on the day that the certification was filed, and all have been offered membership in IATSE Local 58.  The union expects to begin negotiations shortly, and the new Local 58 members are looking forward to working under their first union contract.
