Lincoln Center Theatre has made an agreement with the IATSE and its Local 764 to sign on to the IATSE/Broadway League Child Actor Guardian contract. The new deal affects Guardians working in the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, which currently hosts the Tony-Award-winning production of “Warhorse”. Krystal Rowley, the Guardian at warhorse was recently sworn into membership in Local 764 recently, and will have access to union representation, health and retirement benefits, and the solidarity of her brothers and sisters of the IATSE.
In July, the IATSE and the Broadway League signed the agreement upon which the Lincoln Center deal is based, the first multi-employer contract ever for the workers who take care of children backstage in the theaters.
