LIVERPOOL, UK — At the conclusion of the 5th UNI Global Union World Congress in Liverpool, IATSE International President Matthew Loeb was unanimously elected to serve on the UNI World Executive Board, representing the Media and Entertainment Industry.
IATSE 7th International Vice President and Director of Canadian Affairs John Lewis will serve as first alternate.
The UNI World Executive Board is the governing body of the UNI Global Union, a global union representing 20 million workers from over 150 countries worldwide.
“It is truly an honor to represent entertainment workers in North America and around the world as part of the UNI Global Union World Executive Board,” President Loeb said. “International partnerships like UNI strengthen workers’ voices and make it possible to build connections across borders. In an increasingly connected world, UNI’s value cannot be overstated.”
The UNI World Executive Board serves for a period of four years. The Board will next be elected at the 6th UNI World Congress, to be held in Toronto in 2022.
