Inauguration Day 2021: #LaborUnity2021

IATSE General Board Endorses Obama 2nd Term

Sisters, Brothers, and Kin —

Two weeks ago, we witnessed the disgraceful 1/6/21 attack on our democracy as radical right-wing terrorists stormed the U.S. Capitol. But despite their best efforts, the gears of our resilient democracy continue on.

On January 20th, we will virtually unite as one nation to watch President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President elect Kamala Harris be sworn into office on a stage built by our IATSE brethren.

Inauguration Day 2021 represents the victory working people delivered for themselves by showing up to the polls in record numbers, and electing pro-worker, pro-union politicians to lead the executive branch and both houses of the legislature in free and fair elections. It also represents restored hope and optimism that we will soon defeat this virus and get back to doing what we love.

To celebrate this historic moment, we invite you to snap a selfie with you wearing your IATSE swag during the Inauguration ceremony, using the hashtag #LaborUnity2021
Here are a few ways you can submit these pictures for use on the IATSE social media and the Official Bulletin:

Post photos to social media using the #LaborUnity2021 hashtag

Submit photos securely through our new “Voices” by ActionSprout app (Download the app at iatse.co/voices)

Email photos to the Communications Department at comms@iatse.net

There’s still time to get a pin to commemorate this historic moment. We look forward to seeing your submissions!

In Solidarity,
Team IATSE
