Boston, Jul. 27 – The IATSE Political Action Committee raised nearly $19,000 at a reception held last night at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. The site is the location of the IA’s mid-Summer General Executive Board Meeting. The host locals are Locals 11, 161, 182, 481, 600, 700, 753, 775, 798, 800, B-4 and USA 829.
The fundraiser was held following a motivating presentation by PAC Consultants Chuck Rocha and Anna Durrett of Solidarity Strategies, who addressed the Board and guests as part of the rollout of the IA’s Stand Up, Fight Back campaign. The impact of their remarks was such that the turnout at the PAC reception was notable.
IATSE President Matthew D. Loeb said, “This is a time of serious crisis for working families and we have to do everything we can to help those running for office, and those who are in office now, who have a union-friendly agenda. The IATSE-PAC is a perfect way for the rank and file to contribute to their own futures.”
