Local 489 ratified a First Contract at WQED, Public Television in Pittsburgh, for the production employees employed in the studios of WQED.
The agreement with the studios is a five year deal which includes wage increases, employer contributions for pension through TIAA-CREF, and participation in the I.A. health care program.
This contract was the result of an organizing campaign with representatives of the IATSE and Local 489, to represent these employees.
