EDMONTON, AB – IATSE Local 210 has reached an agreement with Oilers Entertainment Group for work performed at Rogers Place, including Ford Hall. The deal comes after months of friendly negotiations, which began in December of last year. This is a first agreement for the newly constructed venue and was voluntarily recognized by Oilers Entertainment.
Rogers Place is the newest major venue in North America and has a concert seating capacity of over 20,000. The venue, which is now the home of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, has generated more development in the area and is having a hand in revitalizing Edmonton’s downtown core. The first concert to grace the stage was Keith Urban on September 16, quickly followed by a number of major acts including Dolly Parton, Drake, and Kanye West.
The new agreement, which will cover concert and event work, provides health and retirement benefits and will see wage increases over the second and third years. IATSE Local 210 members ratified the deal and are looking forward to working under a collective agreement in this state-of-the-art facility, which is now Edmonton’s largest concert venue.
