Local 129 has certified hair and make-up employees working for Hamilton Entertainment and Convention Facilities Inc. (“HECFI”).

Local 129 already represents stagehands, conversion crew and wardrobe employees working at HECFI and is pleased to welcome the new employees into the bargaining unit. The employer had at first disputed that the employees were in the proposed bargaining unit but withdrew this challenge following the counting of the ballots.

HECFI manages Copps Coliseum, Hamilton Place and the Hamilton Convention Centre. With a total of 117,000 sq, ft, of exhibition space and capacity for up to 19,000 people, Copps Coliseum is Hamilton’s premiere sports and entertainment venue. The Hamilton Place Theatre offers dance productions, Broadway style plays, music by popular artists, and a good assortment of family entertainment, with seating to accommodate up to 350 people. It also provides 19 meeting rooms over 3 floors with over 52,000 sq ft. allowing flexibility for tradeshows and events for up to 2,000 guests.
