IATSE Local 122 Ratifies Strong New Agreement with Encore

IATSE Local 122 has issued the following release on the newly ratified agreement with Encore Global:

San Diego, CA — After several months of collective action, IATSE Local 122 is proud to announce the ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement with Encore Global. This agreement covers almost two hundred in-house Audio-Visual Technicians and Riggers across twenty-four venues in San Diego County including the long-awaited Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center. This deal signifies a monumental step forward and delivers major gains towards livable wages, safer workplaces and equal opportunities for all Encore workers across North America.

Some highlights of the new contract include significant wage increases for all technicians including riggers, premiums for hazardous working conditions, additional compensation for ETCP certifications, a reduced evaluation period to allow more opportunities for merit increases, a ratification bonus, and a strengthened arbitration process to protect workers rights and fortify the enforcement of the agreement.

The agreement was overwhelmingly approved by Local 122’s membership on June 2nd and will stay in effect until May of 2028. Business Representative Robert Morales said, “This agreement reflects the strength and unity of Local 122 and our commitment to raising standards across the industry.”

A big “Thank you” to the entire negotiating team, International President Loeb including everyone at the International, all IATSE Locals across North America who supported the campaign and to everyone in the Labor movement who showed up to our actions and made it clear to Encore that the working people of San Diego will not concede to corporate greed.
