After almost a year, the long-time non-union commercial production company “Pet Gorilla” was brought under an IATSE contract last Monday. The crew of 25 entertainment workers will be receiving health and pension benefits for their current production. Going forward, the company will cover all commercial shoots under an IATSE Commercial Agreement.
The weekend of January 14th, local unions reported a commercial job shooting in Los Angeles. An IATSE representative visited the set in hopes of negotiating a contract. The unified crew were willing to speak up together, and the small but growing commercial production company signed the union agreement after a few hours of negotiations.
The crew of 25 will now be receiving health and pension benefits for this job and the company will cover all future commercial shoots under an IATSE Commercial Agreement.
IATSE members are encouraged to report their jobs to their local unions.
