Allentown Symphony Stagehands Vote Yes For a Union

IATSE Announces Agreement with NETworks

Allentown PA – Allentown Symphony Association stagehand employees voted unanimously to join in union with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 200. Working backstage at the Miller Symphony Hall, carpenters, electricians, properties, audio, and video technicians voted yes to collectively bargain the terms of their employment with their employer.

Miller Symphony Hall is an 1100 seat performing arts facility and oldest live performance theater in Allentown, its heritage dating to 1817. The theater maintains a full production schedule, and is also home to the Allentown Band, the Community Music School of the Lehigh Valley and Repertory Dance Theatre of the Lehigh Valley.

Following certification of the election by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) IATSE Local 200 and the Allentown Symphony Association will begin negotiations for an initial contract.
