October 12 is Indigenous People’s Day

The IATSE DEI Committee recognizes Indigenous People’s Day as an opportunity to honor the histories, culture, resilience, and contributions of Native American and Indigenous Peoples throughout the Americas. We acknowledge the ways that Indigenous Peoples continue to shape our workplaces, industries, artistic traditions, and movements for justice in meaningful and long-lasting ways.

Today we take time to reflect on stories that have often been overlooked, remembering how our past contains both good and bad, and how we can continue to affirm a culture that promotes inclusion and respect. We honor the generations of Indigenous Peoples who continue to sustain their cultures, traditions and stewardship of the lands we inhabit and work on. We encourage connection and engagement with our Indigenous kin and continued solidarity amongst all workers from different backgrounds.
