Amanda Bronswyk serves as President of IATSE Local 891, representing more than 9,700 members across British Columbia and the Yukon, and as IATSE CLC Delegate. Her leadership is grounded in decades of service to the Local, including 12 years as Assistant Steward, six years as Treasurer, and five years as Senior Steward.
Amanda considers representing the membership a profound honour and privilege, and she never takes that responsibility for granted. Her leadership is rooted in compassion, commitment, and a steadfast dedication to ensuring members feel heard, respected, supported, and represented.
Amanda believes a strong union is one that its members can take pride in and feel genuine ownership of. She is committed to fostering an environment where member voices are prioritized and valued, and where decisions reflect the collective interests of the membership.
Workplace safety is deeply personal to Amanda. Her grandfather lost his life in a workplace accident before she had the opportunity to meet him. His story has shaped her unwavering belief that every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of the day.
Amanda is also a passionate advocate for mental health and addictions support. Through her own lived experiences, she understands the importance of ensuring people have access to compassionate, meaningful resources and support before they reach a point of crisis.
Above all, Amanda believes in the strength of solidarity and our ability to accomplish more by working together. She remains committed to working with members, labour partners, and communities at every level to build a stronger, safer, and more inclusive future for all.
