IATSE Votes 2026

Tell us what’s motivating you to vote in the 2026 midterm elections! (Video Submission Form Below)

A longtime staple of the IATSE political program, #IATSEVotes has been used to collect and amplify photos of IATSE members exercising their right to vote and encouraging their kin to do the same.

This year, to meet the moment, we’re taking #IATSEVotes to video! We want to hear from IATSE members directly about the issues most important to you in the 2026 midterm elections and why you plan to vote.

A lot is at stake for entertainment workers in this election cycle. Help us build a movement of member stories and authentic voices to contextualize IATSE’s political engagement.  Share with your fellow IATSE kin the importance of electing IATSE champions and pro-worker majorities in 2026!

Suggested Topics

1. Has film and television industry contraction and the loss of jobs to international competition impacted you? Would passing a federal film/TV tax incentive help?

2. Are you concerned that artificial intelligence (AI) companies are exploiting copyrighted works that IATSE members help create to train their models without consent, compensation, or credit? Do you believe Congress has a responsibility to protect America’s creative workers and ensure the fair and ethical use of AI tools?

3. Do you believe U.S. labor laws need to be strengthened to level the playing field for workers trying to form a union and bargain collectively with their employer? Have federal labor laws, or agencies, impacted your ability to organize, achieve a contract, or hold an employer accountable for wrongdoing?

4. Is federal funding for arts and entertainment – which creates IATSE jobs – important to you? Have you worked on a production in a nonprofit theater or other venue that has benefited from federal funding?

5. How have recent actions by the current administration, anti-worker Congressional majorities, or the Supreme Court impacted your rights as a worker? As a voter? As a citizen?

6. Do you personally identify with one of the IATSE Committees (Womens; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion; Pride; Young Workers; Green; Disaster Response) and do any of the key issues they advocate for motivate your vote? If so, which issues specifically?

7. Is there another issue driving your vote in the 2026 midterms? Perhaps the cost of living, healthcare, voting rights, care for a loved one, or something else?
