Dan Mahoney

Dan Mahoney has worked in Film, Television and Commercial productions since 1974. He has been a proud Union member since 1977 and is a current member of Local 52 IATSE and Local B-751 IATSE.

Dan actively worked as a disgruntled Key Grip in the New York area from 1977 through 1996,working on numerous Television Commercials and Motion Picture productions such as The Final Solution of Grace Quigley (Katherine Hepburn’s last feature film), Once Upon a Time in America, The Cowboy Way, Ransom, Six Degrees of Separation, Devil’s Advocate and many others.

In 1997 he became the Business Representative of Motion Picture Studio Mechanics Local 52 IATSE. He then became a full time Representative of the International Union in 2002 working out of the IATSE headquarters in New York City. International President Loeb’s first official act as International President in July of 2008 was appointing Dan as the Assistant Department Director of Motion Picture and Television Production of the IATSE and Chairperson of the East Coast Council of the IATSE.

Dan is also proud to work with the Marty Lyons Foundation for children. The foundation is dedicated to helping children with chronic or life threatening illness and was founded by former NY Jet Marty Lyons in 1982.
