VANCOUVER, BC -<\/strong> 26 travailleurs de l'historique Rio Theatre de Vancouver ont massivement ratifi\u00e9 leur premi\u00e8re convention collective avec le syndicat des travailleurs des arts et de la culture, l'International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local B778. Lors d'un vote d\u00e9cisif, plus de 93% des travailleurs ont vot\u00e9 en faveur de la ratification du nouveau contrat, qui couvre les travailleurs de neuf classifications, notamment les techniciens\/responsables de salle, les agents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, les responsables de bureau, les agents de promotion, les administrateurs, les responsables de bar, les techniciens, les superviseurs et les responsables des concessions. Les travailleurs ont d'abord vot\u00e9 pour rejoindre la section locale B778 de l'IATSE en janvier 2025, et la section locale a \u00e9t\u00e9 certifi\u00e9e comme leur agent de n\u00e9gociation par le BC Labour Relations Board en f\u00e9vrier de la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Le nouveau CBA apporte des am\u00e9liorations substantielles aux travailleurs, notamment des augmentations de salaire d'au moins 6% pour l'ensemble des travailleurs, avec des augmentations annuelles de 3% par la suite. Le contrat garantit \u00e9galement un appel minimum de quatre heures avec des p\u00e9nalit\u00e9s en cas d'annulation tardive, des prestations de sant\u00e9, des cong\u00e9s pay\u00e9s suppl\u00e9mentaires et des changements organisationnels visant \u00e0 promouvoir l'\u00e9quit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Construit en 1938, le Rio Theatre est aujourd'hui un lieu multim\u00e9dia qui accueille des films ind\u00e9pendants de premier plan et des spectacles vivants. Connu pour sa programmation \u00e9clectique comprenant des classiques cultes, du burlesque, de la com\u00e9die, des tourn\u00e9es et des festivals de cin\u00e9ma, le Rio est depuis longtemps une ic\u00f4ne culturelle de l'East Side de Vancouver.<\/p>\n

\"Il est inspirant de voir les travailleurs du Rio s'organiser non seulement pour eux-m\u00eames et leurs coll\u00e8gues, mais aussi par amour sinc\u00e8re de leur travail dans ce joyau historique du quartier\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Hania Ilahi, vice-pr\u00e9sidente du Syndicat des travailleurs des arts et de la culture, section locale B778. \"Ils peuvent d\u00e9sormais poursuivre leur travail dans cet \u00e9tablissement en b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant de protections et d'avantages renforc\u00e9s, ce qui prouve que les travailleurs des arts et de la culture m\u00e9ritent des conditions de travail \u00e9quitables et ne devraient pas avoir \u00e0 sacrifier leur bien-\u00eatre simplement par amour de leur m\u00e9tier. Il s'agit d'une victoire majeure, non seulement pour les travailleurs de Rio, mais aussi pour les travailleurs du secteur artistique et culturel partout dans le monde !<\/p>\n
