L'\u00e9lection s'est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e apr\u00e8s un long conflit contradictoire entre la section 39 de l'AI, Sheppard Convention Services, Inc. et le syndicat des charpentiers.<\/p>\n

Avant le conflit de comp\u00e9tence, le Local 39 de l'IATSE entretenait une relation \u00e0 long terme avec Sheppard Convention Services, Inc. \u00c0 l'expiration du contrat prolong\u00e9, Sheppard a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de confier au syndicat des charpentiers le travail traditionnellement effectu\u00e9 par les membres de la section 39 de l'IATSE, ce qui a incit\u00e9 l'IATSE \u00e0 porter plainte contre Sheppard pour pratiques d\u00e9loyales. Sheppard a ensuite rendu le travail \u00e0 la juridiction de l'IATSE, ce qui a incit\u00e9 les charpentiers \u00e0 porter plainte contre Sheppard. Une audience 10K a \u00e9t\u00e9 tenue par le NLRB, qui a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 que le travail devait \u00eatre attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l'IATSE.
