L'IATSE avait dress\u00e9 un piquet de gr\u00e8ve contre l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement en raison du refus de l'employeur d'engager les employ\u00e9s repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s par la section locale et de respecter le contrat existant. Plut\u00f4t que de traiter avec l'IATSE, l'entreprise a fait appel \u00e0 des travailleurs non syndiqu\u00e9s de l'ext\u00e9rieur de la ville pour commencer le chargement. Les sections locales 476, 750 et 769 de l'AI, bas\u00e9es \u00e0 Chicago, ont fait du piquetage avec la section locale 2 pendant deux jours sur le chantier connu sous le nom de Lakeside. D'autres syndicats, dont la FIOE et la FIT, ont \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la protection des normes de leur secteur.<\/p>\n<p>L'impasse a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9solue lorsque Coran Capshaw, du Dave Matthews Band, a contact\u00e9 Craig Carlson, vice-pr\u00e9sident international et directeur commercial de la section locale 2, afin de tenter de surmonter cette tentative flagrante de saper les normes sectorielles du syndicat. Le DMB a d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait appel aux membres de la section locale 2 pendant plus d'une douzaine d'ann\u00e9es pour l'organisation de ses concerts \u00e0 Chicago et tous les arr\u00eats de la tourn\u00e9e du festival Caravan 2011 du DMB ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pris en charge par les sections locales de l'IA. Selon M. Carlson, \"Chicago peut \u00eatre fier de sa solidarit\u00e9 et la section locale 2 est tr\u00e8s reconnaissante de la bonne foi que le DMB et Coran Capshaw ont apport\u00e9e \u00e0 la situation.\" <\/p>\n<p>Le pr\u00e9sident international de l'IATSE, M. Loeb, a ajout\u00e9 : \"La section locale 2 a fait ce qu'il fallait pour attirer l'attention de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement sur l'\u00e9quit\u00e9.
