VANCOUVER, BC<\/strong> -<\/strong> Les travailleurs de Pacific Backlot Services ont ratifi\u00e9 leur premi\u00e8re convention collective apr\u00e8s avoir form\u00e9 le syndicat \u00e0 l'automne 2023. Il s'agit de la premi\u00e8re convention collective d'un atelier de location \u00e0 \u00eatre ratifi\u00e9e par l'IATSE au Canada.<\/p>\n

Bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Vancouver, Pacific Backlot Services est une division de MBS, la plus grande soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de services d'\u00e9quipement au monde, qui poss\u00e8de des installations en Colombie-Britannique, en Alberta et en Ontario. Pacific Backlot fournit des services de production \u00e0 des productions cin\u00e9matographiques dans toute la Colombie-Britannique. Cette nouvelle convention collective de deux ans pr\u00e9voit douze mois de droits de rappel pour les travailleurs licenci\u00e9s en raison d'un manque de travail, ainsi que des augmentations de salaire de 9% pendant la dur\u00e9e de la convention, avec effet r\u00e9troactif au 1er janvier 2024.<\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident de la section locale B778 de l'IATSE, Conor Moore, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \"Il s'agit d'un excellent contrat pour les travailleurs de Pacific Backlot et d'un excellent exemple de ce que les travailleurs peuvent obtenir lorsqu'ils s'unissent. Nous esp\u00e9rons tirer parti de ce succ\u00e8s et apporter une repr\u00e9sentation syndicale \u00e0 davantage d'ateliers de location \u00e0 Vancouver.\"<\/p>\n

Les r\u00e9cents succ\u00e8s de l'IATSE dans la syndicalisation des ateliers de location ne se limitent pas \u00e0 Pacific Backlot Services. Au cours de l'\u00e9t\u00e9 2023, les travailleurs de William F. Whites \u00e0 Toronto ont vot\u00e9 massivement en faveur de la cr\u00e9ation d'un syndicat sur leur lieu de travail. \"Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 la n\u00e9gociation d'une convention r\u00e9ussie chez Pacific Backlot, nous n\u00e9gocions actuellement la premi\u00e8re convention collective chez Whites \u00e0 Toronto\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 John Lewis, vice-pr\u00e9sident international de l'IATSE et directeur des affaires canadiennes. \"Nous sommes impatients d'am\u00e9liorer la vie d'un nombre encore plus grand de travailleurs de l'industrie du divertissement qui travaillent dans des maisons de location.<\/p>\n
