THUNDER BAY, ON <\/strong>- <\/strong>Le personnel technique de production du Magnus Theatre a vot\u00e9 en faveur d'une repr\u00e9sentation par la section locale 467 de l'IATSE. Les discussions entre les machinistes et la section locale 467 ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 la mi-octobre et la section locale a d\u00e9pos\u00e9 une demande d'accr\u00e9ditation aupr\u00e8s de la Commission des relations de travail de l'Ontario le 16 novembre. Le vote de repr\u00e9sentation a eu lieu la semaine suivante et les r\u00e9sultats ont \u00e9t\u00e9 unanimes. La Commission des relations de travail a rendu sa d\u00e9cision le 12 d\u00e9cembre, accordant \u00e0 la section locale 467 de l'IATSE la comp\u00e9tence pour repr\u00e9senter les travailleurs de la sc\u00e8ne sur le site.<\/p>\n

Situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Thunder Bay, le Magnus Theatre, qui dispose de 250 places et d'une sc\u00e8ne de style proscenium, est la seule compagnie th\u00e9\u00e2trale professionnelle du nord-ouest de l'Ontario. Fond\u00e9 en 1971, son influence n'a cess\u00e9 de cro\u00eetre, et Magnus produit maintenant sept productions professionnelles sur la sc\u00e8ne principale chaque saison. Ses programmes artistiques, de tourn\u00e9e et d'\u00e9ducation th\u00e9\u00e2trale touchent chaque ann\u00e9e plus de 40 000 adultes, \u00e9tudiants et personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es dans tout le nord-ouest de l'Ontario.<\/p>\n

En tant que syndicat local plus petit, la section 467 de l'IATSE est particuli\u00e8rement heureuse d'accueillir ces travailleurs au sein de la section, ce qui repr\u00e9sente une augmentation de 33% du nombre de membres. Les nouveaux membres sont impatients d'entamer les n\u00e9gociations de leur premi\u00e8re convention collective.
