Le groupe qui se syndique comprend 83 artistes travaillant sur les productions de James Cameron 'Lightstorm Entertainment', y compris la s\u00e9rie de films Avatar, dans les d\u00e9partements VFX, y compris la sc\u00e8ne, les environnements, le rendu, le post-viz, les s\u00e9quences, le roulement et le Kabuki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec cette annonce, les artistes VFX d'\"Avatar\" deviennent les premiers artistes VFX \"c\u00f4t\u00e9 vendeur\" aux \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 d\u00e9poser officiellement une demande d'\u00e9lection de syndicalisation aupr\u00e8s du National Labor Relations Board (Conseil national des relations de travail). Summer Benton, artiste de l'environnement, esp\u00e8re que les r\u00e9cents succ\u00e8s des travailleurs VFX en mati\u00e8re de syndicalisation \u00e9tabliront une nouvelle norme dans l'industrie : \"En nous rassemblant au sein de la famille Avatar, nous visons \u00e0 obtenir des am\u00e9liorations qui nous aideront \u00e0 maintenir notre meilleure qualit\u00e9 de travail dans un cadre plus durable et \u00e0 continuer \u00e0 susciter l'\u00e9merveillement et l'inspiration de nos dirigeants et des productions VFX partout dans le monde.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alors que des postes tels que concepteur de production\/directeur artistique, cam\u00e9raman, ing\u00e9nieur du son, monteur, coiffeur et maquilleur, costumier \/ habilleur, superviseur de sc\u00e9nario, machiniste, \u00e9clairagiste, accessoiriste et peintre, entre autres, ont toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s par l'IATSE dans le cin\u00e9ma et la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, les travailleurs des classifications VFX ne l'ont jamais \u00e9t\u00e9. Le coordinateur de PostVis, Patrick DeVaney, a cit\u00e9 cette disparit\u00e9 comme l'une des principales raisons de son int\u00e9r\u00eat pour la syndicalisation : \"Je m'organise parce que tous les autres d\u00e9partements d'un film sont syndiqu\u00e9s et que les VFX auraient d\u00fb b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier depuis longtemps des avantages, d'un salaire plus \u00e9quitable et du respect que ces autres d\u00e9partements ont obtenu pour eux-m\u00eames par le biais de la n\u00e9gociation collective\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christopher Cornejo, directeur technique principal, explique que des soins de sant\u00e9 abordables, des avantages durables et un salaire d\u00e9cent sont des questions prioritaires pour les travailleurs de l'audiovisuel : \"En mars 2023, on m'a diagnostiqu\u00e9 une mucoviscidose. C'est une maladie avec laquelle je vais devoir composer pour le reste de ma vie, avec des visites chez le m\u00e9decin et des m\u00e9dicaments. Malgr\u00e9 tout, j'ai eu la chance de rester en bonne sant\u00e9 et d'exercer un m\u00e9tier qui me tient tant \u00e0 c\u0153ur. Cependant, de nombreuses personnes dans ce secteur et m\u00eame au sein de ce studio n'ont pas cette chance, car rien de tout cela n'est bon march\u00e9. Mon objectif, en me syndiquant, est de nous donner \u00e0 tous l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des soins de sant\u00e9 abordables, \u00e0 des avantages sociaux et \u00e0 un salaire d\u00e9cent, afin que nous puissions continuer \u00e0 prendre soin de nous, physiquement et mentalement, tout en travaillant dans l'un des domaines les plus amusants et les plus gratifiants de la plan\u00e8te\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jennifer Anaya, responsable du projet Kabuki depuis quatre ans, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \"Nous entendons souvent les studios se comparer \u00e0 une \"famille\". Lorsque vous travaillez pendant des ann\u00e9es sur un projet tel que les suites d'Avatar, vos coll\u00e8gues commencent \u00e0 se sentir tout aussi proches. Chacun de mes coll\u00e8gues a consacr\u00e9 beaucoup de temps, de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et de passion \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de ces films. Alors quand vous les voyez se battre pour payer leurs primes d'assurance maladie, \u00eatre surcharg\u00e9s de travail parce qu'ils ont accept\u00e9 plusieurs r\u00f4les, ou se contenter d'un salaire de mis\u00e8re... vous ne pouvez pas rester silencieux. En tant que travailleurs de l'audiovisuel, nous ne sommes pas rempla\u00e7ables et nous m\u00e9ritons d'\u00eatre prot\u00e9g\u00e9s.
